Croyde Bay - Objection

AGM was instructed to Object to a proposal to build One Unit Holiday Accommodation on a plot of land abutting the seafront at Croyde Bay.  A designated an area of AONB.

The proposal did not meet infill criteria, did not meet an identified need and offered no public benefit.  The proposed development was not of an outstanding design and so did not fulfil exceptional planning criteria.  More importantly, it would harm the AONB through the removal of an important plot of open space and, as reiterated in the NDC Statement of Case, self catering accommodation is not in accordance with policy primarily due to its location and, being outside the Development Boundary it would result in unsustainable development.

The application was refused and subsequently dismissed at appeal see link:  Appeal APP/X1118/W/18/3198352

In successfully arguing the case AGM preserved the coastline open space in ANOB countryside for for on-going public enjoyment.
